Zach Wilson Trade Broncos

Broncos Unlikely to Pursue Zach Wilson, Focus on Internal Options

Wilson Deemed Not a Top Prospect Amidst Russell Wilson Trade Rumors

Broncos Content with Current Quarterback Situation

Amidst the ongoing trade rumors surrounding Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos have reportedly ruled out a potential pursuit of New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. According to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, the Broncos are unlikely to make a move for Wilson, despite the fact that he has been linked to the team in recent months.

The decision to avoid Wilson is reportedly due to the Broncos' belief in their current quarterback situation. They are confident in Drew Lock's abilities and view him as their long-term starter. They also have Teddy Bridgewater under contract, who provides a solid backup option and experienced mentor for Lock.

Wilson, who was the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has yet to live up to expectations in New York. He struggled mightily in his rookie season, throwing for just 2,334 yards with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The Jets have also shown a willingness to explore trade options for Wilson, but it remains to be seen if any teams are interested in acquiring him.

With the Broncos opting to focus on their internal options, it appears that Wilson's future in New York is uncertain. He could remain with the Jets and compete with Mike White for the starting job, or he could be traded to another team in search of a young quarterback with potential.
