Brazilian Duo Defeats German Pair in Final

PARIS (July 28, 2024) - Brazil's Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda "Duda" Santos Lisboa claimed the gold medal in the women's beach volleyball competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The top-seeded Brazilian duo defeated the German pair of Karla Borger and Julia Sude in two sets (21-19, 21-15) in the gold medal match at the Stade de France.

Agatha and Duda dominated the tournament, dropping only one set in their six matches. They avenged their loss to the Germans in the pool play with a convincing victory in the final.

The Brazilian duo's gold medal victory marked the first time that a Brazilian team had won the Olympic women's beach volleyball title since the inception of the sport in 1996.
